Masked Stranger Walked Up to a Texas Porch and Ate a Banana Through a Biden Mask: “Being Bizarre Is Not, in Itself, a Criminal Offense”

The doorbell camera catches him mid-stride at 8:05 p.m., walking straight up to a front door in Watauga, Texas, wearing a Joe Biden mask and a T-shirt that says “FREEDOM.” He leans toward the lens, runs his fingers over the camera twice, eats a banana through the mask, and then walks back into the dark like the visit made perfect sense.

It happened on Sunday, Oct. 18, in the Fort Worth suburb of Watauga, and according to police, this house was not the only stop. Other residents reported similar sightings of the masked visitor, which is how a man eating fruit on a porch ended up earning an official statement from the Watauga Police Department. The footage has everything a neighborhood group chat needs: a mask, a slogan shirt, a snack, and no explanation for any of it.

That statement, shared with FOX 4, is amused on the surface and completely serious underneath. The department’s first finding was that, eyebrows aside, no crime had taken place on that porch.

“Although the individual’s choice of attire and snack may have raised a few eyebrows, neither appears to have violated the law at this time.”

The Police Statement Only Made It Stranger

Most department statements end there. Watauga’s kept going, and the next line is the one now traveling with the video everywhere it gets shared.

“And while we can’t explain the costume, the banana, or the apparent political identity crisis, we can confirm that being bizarre is not, in itself, a criminal offense.”

But the department was careful not to turn the whole thing into a joke at residents’ expense. A masked stranger standing at your door after dark is a legitimate thing to call in, the statement made clear, and officers still want to hear about every new sighting.

“We encourage residents to continue reporting suspicious activity, even when the circumstances are a little bananas.”

So the official position lands in two places at once: nothing illegal happened, and please keep reporting it if it happens again. The man has not been identified, no charges are involved, and the department has not said whether the visits were a prank, a dare, or something with a point nobody has figured out yet.

Police stopped well short of asking anyone to confront him — just to call it in and let officers handle the bananas.

Viewers couldn’t agree on what the camera had caught. Some saw a harmless, absurd prank that even the police could not help laughing at. Others saw a masked stranger at a stranger’s door at night — and said the banana does not make that one bit less menacing.
