“I Would’ve Made Myself a Menace”: Nevada Pair Called Out for Blocking a Wizard of Oz Photo Op

The yellow brick road was right there, and so were Dorothy, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man — but nobody could get a clean photo of them. Two visitors had settled themselves on the ledge in front of the whole display, deep in conversation, while other guests waited with cameras in hand. That is the scene a Nevada creator captured on video, and it has turned into a surprisingly heated argument about manners in public places.

The clip, posted to TikTok by @sarabostonaz, shows a woman and a man sitting side by side on a yellow brick-style ledge, the Wizard of Oz figures standing behind them. As she films, the creator calls the pair out for holding a meeting, in her words, “right in the middle of the whole entire Wizard of Oz thing.” She says they would not move out of the way for anyone, and her caption adds that several other visitors were trying to take pictures at the display.

The post also carries the hashtag #entitledlady, which gives a fair hint of where the creator stands. But the comments quickly split into two camps — and the second camp had almost as much to say about the person filming as about the pair on the ledge.

What Viewers Said They Would Have Done

Plenty of viewers sided with the creator. “There has to be something wrong with people who behave that way,” one person wrote, while another called the behavior entitled and rude, saying it was disgusting to ruin a photo opportunity for everyone else. Then came the revenge fantasies. “Oh I would have made myself a MENACE!” one commenter declared. Another said they would have stood in front of the pair and talked loudly enough to drown out their conversation, while someone else would have sat between them and asked another person to take a picture.

But a second group turned the question around. “Use your words. Tell them to move,” one commenter urged, while another asked whether she had politely explained that people wanted to see the display. Others wondered why she had not asked staff to step in. The creator answered that one in a follow-up comment, saying several people had already asked the pair to move aside.

In the end, both sides are really arguing about the same thing: who owes whom a little consideration in a shared space. The pair could have shifted a few feet, viewers say — or the creator could have asked instead of filming. Nobody in the comments seems ready to give ground, which is exactly why a short clip about a photo display is still being argued over days later.
