Missouri football has another off-field mess on its hands — and head coach Eli Drinkwitz isn’t rushing to clean it up with suspensions just yet.
Three Tigers freshmen — cornerbacks Ahmod Billins and Trashundon Neal, plus wide receiver Karsten Fiene — were arrested Monday in Boone County on charges of first-degree harassment, a Class E felony.
📱 Watch the viral moment:
The trio was processed by the Columbia Police Department around 1 p.m. and later released on bond. All three remain listed on Missouri’s roster.
At his weekly press conference Tuesday, Drinkwitz addressed the arrests head-on — but stopped well short of announcing discipline.
“I’m aware of the situation involving our three freshmen,” Drinkwitz said. “I’m going to allow the legal process to play out. I’m not going to rush to judgment. I’m going to let the fact-finding play out before I make any decisions.”
He confirmed the players will be away from the team until the facts come out, per program protocols.
Details of the alleged harassment have not been made public, with arrest reports unavailable on the Boone County website.
What we do know about the players: Neal and Fiene both hail from the Kansas City area — Neal from Liberty North High School, Fiene from Lee’s Summit, where he won a state championship. Billins is a three-star signing from Abbeville, Alabama. None have seen significant playing time, appearing only on special teams and in the season opener.
The timing couldn’t be worse for the program. Just five months ago, freshman linebacker JJ Bush was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated fleeing and suspended indefinitely. Now three more names are on a police blotter.
For a team preparing to host Texas A&M on Saturday, the distractions are piling up almost as fast as the questions about discipline in Columbia.
Drinkwitz says he’ll wait for facts. Tigers fans are waiting to see if that patience pays off — or blows up.
