Chiefs Gain Another Chip on Their Shoulder

First, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called reporters absurd for thinking the Kansas City Chiefs benefit from corrupt officiating. Then, the League officials issued a public statement voicing their displeasure at the accusation. In the aftermath, all this is doing is giving the Chiefs another reason to win Super Bowl LIX.

Yes, I’ve supported a few conspiracy theories in my life, but one I don’t believe is that the NFL and its on-field officials are giving favorable calls to the Chiefs.

First, it has always been subjective and happens in real-time. You can’t slow down the play on the field while it’s happening. Instead, you must trust your first instinct. The issue isn’t that some calls are missed; the social media wannabes think the Chiefs receive special treatment.

They fail to recognize that, in most cases, the Chiefs’ opponents were not strong enough to defeat Kansas City. The Chiefs eliminated the Houston Texans in the playoffs, and the Buffalo Bills also won against both teams.

However, after the game, both teams blamed the calls made on the field and the stacked deck raised against them by the NFL’s and its officials’ collusion. It’s absurd to believe in today’s NFL; this is a conversation.

The Kansas City Chiefs just wrapped up their seventh straight AFC Championship game; they’ve won five and are heading to their fifth Super Bowl in that time frame. They’ve won three because they made the plays to win those games.

The Chiefs are a dynasty, and I understand that fans are tired of watching them win. However, the tease of becoming the first Three-Peat Super Bowl champion shatters their minds. Yet, Bills, Bengals, 49ers, and Ravens fans would gladly trade places with the Chiefs.

They can’t because they aren’t good enough to defeat them in the postseason. Each week, the Chiefs get their opponent’s best, and in 2024, they won fifteen games, setting a franchise mark.

They won those games because they were the better team in the most significant moments that decided the outcome. The Chiefs are being dissed by their greatness, and it’s unfair at every level.

I wasn’t a fan of the New England Patriots, but they dominated the AFC for two decades and won six Super Bowls. You must respect that; now, the Chiefs are in the same position.

Since Head Coach Andy Reid and Quarterback Patrick Mahomes joined the team, this franchise has dominated the AFC since 2018. This brings joy to the Chiefs Kingdom, which endured fifty years of mediocrity. We stand as the greatest NFL franchise of this era in football.

Labeling it a fluke or implying they’re receiving calls encourages this team to raise their performance. If you’ve watched Mahomes speak to the media this week, you can see that spark in his eye.

He’s frustrated with the new narrative and seems determined to make NFL history this Sunday night. If you support another NFL team, encourage them to stop making excuses because they aren’t good enough.

So, please keep spreading the nonsense because it’s causing more harm than good for the Chiefs.
