Two days ago, Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach tasked the agent for Wayna Morris with finding a trade partner. Per reports, that appears to have been concluded, as the Chiefs are sending Morris to the Atlanta Falcons.

The Kansas City Chiefs appear to be set at the tackle position in Kansas City. With Josh Simmons at left, the trio of Khali Benson, Esa Pole, and Veteran Jaylen Moore appear to be the interchangeable pieces the Chiefs will head into training camp with. The odd man out was Wayna Morris, who was traded to the Atlanta Falcons.
Per Jordan Schultz with the Schultz Report, the Kansas City Chiefs will send Morris and a 2027 7th-round pick to the Falcons for the Falcons’ 2027 6th-round selection.
🚨 TRADE NEWS: Wanya Morris heading to Atlanta!

The #Chiefs are officially trading OT Wanya Morris and a 7th-round pick in 2027 to the #Falcons for a 6th-round pick in 2027. , per @Schultz_Report.

Morris started just 16 games for the Chiefs, and the former 2023 third-round pick had multiple opportunities to replace Orlando Brown, Jr. at left tackle when he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent. He also saw spot duty at right tackle, but he never gave the Chiefs confidence that he could be a long-term solution.
The Falcons are a rising team, and with new head coach Kevin Stefanski, he might be able to get more out of Morris than Andy Reid was able to during his tenure in Kansas City. He also suffered multiple injuries that thwarted the consistency he needed to contribute to the Chiefs’ offensive line.
The trade will create roughly $1.4M in additional cap space for the Chiefs. After all their recent signings, Kansas City has about $5.2M in cap space to add veterans before the start of the 2026 NFL Season.
