The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed back Left Tackle Josh Simmons to the facility Monday morning. He’s been out for personal reasons, but is back in Kansas City, ready to resume his NFL career. So, how does his return shake up the offensive line?

After another regular-season loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs received some good news regarding first-round draft pick Josh Simmons. Per @SchultzReport, the Chiefs’ starting left tackle is in Kansas City and at the facility.

This is welcome news for the Chiefs, who might be without right tackle Jawaan Taylor, who was injured in the game on Sunday. Jalon Moore has filled in for Simmons, but he struggled against the Bills’ pass rush.

With Simmons back, he could return to his starting spot at left tackle, and if Taylor is out for an extended period of time, he could move to right tackle. Wanya Morris filled in for Taylor, but he was ineffective.

The Chiefs also have Esa Pole on their practice squad, and he could be activated if Taylor goes on injured reserve.

It’s been a long journey back for Simmons, and perhaps he’ll offer some clarity on the situation next week when members of the Chiefs speak to the press before their preparation for the Denver Broncos.
