In the Kansas City Chiefs’ stunning loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday night, the injury to Wide Receiver Xavier Worthy forced him to leave the game. Now the status of the injury has been updated, and it’s not good news for his return to the field this month.

Forget the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the health of Wide Receiver Xavier Worhty is the hot topic surrounding this franchise. It has been revealed that the second-year receivers suffered a dislocated shoulder.
According to reports, he is seeking a second opinion, one that does not involve surgery, but if it’s a separation, it’s possible he could return this season. If he can wear a brace on that shoulder and tolerate the pain, he could return in October. If he has surgery, he’ll be done this season.

It’s still unclear how much time he will miss as he seeks a second opinion.
The most likely option is for him to brace it up and return this season.
Tests are pending and surgery is still an option.

With the suspension of Rashee Rice and the injury to rookie Jalen Royals, the Chiefs are growing thin at receiver. If the injury to Worthy keeps him sidelined for a month or two, it’s possible a veteran such as Allen Robinson would be a good fit for Kansas City.
Either way, the injury, coupled with their loss in the season opener, means next Sunday’s matchup against the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, is a must-win for the Chiefs. They can ill afford to start the season with two straight losses.
However, to avoid that, they need much better play from their offense and defense in stopping the Eagles from putting an exclamation point on the 2025 season. They know what a win in Kansas City would mean for them and the Chiefs.
