It’s official: the Kansas City Chiefs will be the most-watched team in the NFL this season. With seven prime-time slots and a game on Thanksgiving, it’s clear that the NFL regards the Chiefs as the ratings darling of the 2025 season. So, how does the schedule look for the Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most challenging schedules in the NFL this season. Nonetheless, they are featured a staggering seven times, more than any other NFL team, on PrimeTime. This is a testament to their recent success and how advertisers view the Chiefs.
The Chiefs might have their best home slate in franchise history with nine home games this season against some of the game’s best teams.
Let’s break it down!
Week 1 @ Los Angeles Chargers (Sao Paulo, Brazil) (YouTube TV) – The Chiefs will open the regular season on Friday, September 5th, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, against the Los Angeles Chargers. This is typically a home game for the Chiefs when they travel to Sofi Stadium, so I understand why the Chargers relinquished it.
Week 2 vs. Philadelphia Eagles (FOX) – The rematch of Super Bowl LIX occurs at Arrowhead in the second week of the season. This early-season matchup will feature numerous storylines, but the Chiefs will seek revenge in their 2025 home opener.
Week 3 @New York Giants (NBC) – This Sunday night matchup marks the Chiefs’ first of three NBC games. The Giants are underperforming in football, and with uncertainty surrounding their quarterback, Kansas City holds the advantage. However, this franchise tends to struggle when playing in New York.

Week 4 vs. Baltimore Ravens (CBS) – This will be a major revenge game for the Ravens, who suffered a tough loss to open the 2024 season in Kansas City. The Ravens flamed out again in the postseason, but with Lamar Jackson, they are never out of any game.
Week 5 @ Jacksonville Jaguars (ESPN/ABC) – The Jaguars have a new head coach, and maybe the most exciting player to come out of college is wide receiver Travis Hunter. The two-way star will be a must-see on TV.
Week 6 vs. Detroit Lions (NBC) – In 2023, the Lions visited Arrowhead and spoiled the Chiefs’ celebration after winning Super Bowl LVII. Detroit is among the top teams in the NFC and is a Super Bowl contender this season.

Week 7 vs. Las Vegas Raiders (CBS) – At this stage of the season, we should have an early indication of how Pete Carroll is adjusting to his new team. Their offense should be exciting with Geno Smith under center and first-round pick Ashton Jeanty running the rock.
Week 8 vs. Washington Commanders (ESPN/ABC) – The final of three straight at Arrowhead, this might be the most challenging game the Chiefs face all season. The Commanders were one game away from playing the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. They are the team to watch in 2025.
Week 9 @Buffalo Bills (CBS) – Playing the Bills on a short week is a tricky slope for the Chiefs, and generally, Buffalo has the edge over Kansas City in the regular season. It’s hard to gauge the 2025 Bills, but they constantly challenge the Chiefs, especially at home.
Week 10 BYE WEEK

Week 11 @ Denver Broncos (CBS) – I believe the Broncos and Chiefs are the top teams in the AFC West. This division battle will set the tone for the second half of the season. Denver has one of the best defenses in the NFL, and it possesses the offensive talent to create plenty of anxiety for the Chiefs.
Week 12 vs. Indianapolis Colts (CBS) – Will Trent Richardson be the starter for the Colts this season? Will this franchise have any wins at this stage of the NFL season? In other words, the Chiefs will be heavy favorites in this late November match.
Week 13 vs. Dallas Cowboys (CBS) – This Thanksgiving Day game could become the highest-rated regular-season game in NFL history. Dallas has six prime-time games, the Chiefs have seven, and this one doesn’t count in that category. Both teams are coming off a short week, but that won’t matter as the two former Dallas teams play against each other.

Week 14 vs. Houston Texans (NBC) – The Chiefs defeated the Texans twice last season: once in the regular season and again in the postseason. Both games were close, but ultimately, the Chiefs prevailed. The Texans revamped their offensive line and now have a potent offense.
Week 15 vs. Los Angeles Chargers (CBS) – These teams haven’t faced each other since the season opener, and it’s reasonable to assume both teams will be significantly different since game one. These games are typically close, and I can’t imagine that will change in Kansas City.
Week 16 @ Tennessee Titans (CBS) – The Chiefs face a favorable late-season matchup in Nashville. The Titans will begin with a rookie quarterback, and at this point in the year, we don’t know if Cam Ward has secured the starting position.

Week 17 vs. Denver Broncos (Prime Video) – This Christmas game will be the Chiefs’ third in a row. They are 1-1 in the previous two games, but this Arrowhead showdown could decide the AFC West Champion. Let’s hope Santa shows up with big plays and a big win against the Broncos.
Week 18 @ Las Vegas Raiders (TBD) – The Raiders will likely be out of the playoff race by this point in the season, and the Chiefs may rest their starters for this game. Either way, Kansas City hopes this game allows their starters to rest as they head into the postseason.
In summary, the Chiefs enter the 2025 season with only a few question marks. I can argue this is the best team in Andy Reid’s era, but offensive line play, injuries, and the inner drive to wash away the taste of that stinging Super Bowl loss will resonate strongly with the Chiefs this season.
Yet, they have fourteen wins on this schedule. If the ball bounces their way, they may reach fifteen wins, matching last year’s total. Either way, the Super Bowl is their goal, and the regular season is just a step on that path.
