The Kansas City Chiefs entered the free-agent period with several needs. They signed a left tackle and a speedy running back on day one. Today, they added a young cornerback from the Los Angeles Chargers.

General Manager Brett Veach has always searched for talented players to add to his roster. Still, as he did with Drue Tranquill two years ago, he dipped into the Los Angeles Chargers roster to sign highly talented cornerback Kristian Fulton.
In the deal announced by NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Fulton will get a two-year, $20 million contract with $25M guaranteed. The former Chargers starter graduated from LSU and played four seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
He signed a one-year deal with the Chargers last season. He has five career interceptions and 155 solo tackles in his five NFL seasons. If you want to play cornerback for the Chiefs, you have to be able to provide run support.

With some question marks at cornerback for the Chiefs, Fulton could play outside or inside. Kansas City wants to keep Trent McDuffie fluid on defense, thus Fulton might start opposite, Jaylen Watson.
The signing news was a bit of a surprise, but this allows the Chiefs to go into the 2025 NFL Draft feasting on other needs, such as defensive line. Still, Fulton is a top defender, and this is an outstanding addition to the Chiefs defense.
In other Chiefs news, Long Snapper James Winchester has agreed to a one-year deal with Kansas City.
