Within minutes of the opening bell for the legal tampering period, the Kansas City Chiefs have a new starting left tackle. KC’s offensive line will also get an upgrade and a new look for 2025.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ most significant need in NFL Free Agency has been filled. Per Adam Schefter at ESPN, the team agreed to a two-year deal worth $30 million with former San Francisco 49ers Free Agent Left Tackle Jaylon Moore.
The 27-year-old has been the primary backup to future Hall of Famer Trent Williams, so he had a good teacher. Kansas City also considered other free-agent tackles but settled on Moore based on his skillset and familiarity with the Chiefs’ offense.
Heading into the 2025 season, the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line appears to be set. Moore will anchor left tackle, and second-year man Kingsly Suamataia, who is switching from tackle to Guard, will line up next to Moore at left guard.

Center Creed Humphrey will anchor the middle, Trey Smith will be at right guard, and Jawaan Taylor right tackle.
Despite the signing, I suspect the Chiefs will draft another young tackle who could replace Taylow in 2026. If they don’t go that route, they may bring back D.J. Humphries on a team friends deal.
Either way, Brett Veach had a mandate from the Chiefs Kingdom to fix the woes of the Super Bowl, and for the second time in his tenure, he rebuilt the Chiefs offensive line for the next two years.
