Another prominent Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver has been arrested for the second off-season. Last year, it was Rashee Rice, and now Xavier Worthy is facing some legal issues. His attorneys are claiming innocence, so there might be more to these alleged charges.

One player stood out of all the bright spots in Super Bowl LIX. Xavier Worthy was the offense star, and during his ascension in 2024, he became the focal point of Andy Reid’s playbook. That might not be the case anymore.
On Friday night, Worthy was arrested in Texas. He spent the night in a Williamstown jail, and no bail has been set.
A year ago, Rashee Rice was arrested for an off-the-field car chase and leaving the scene of an accident, so his status for the 2025 season remains unknown. He will undoubtedly play this year, but the NFL will likely impose a hefty suspension that could last into October or November.
The news of Worthy’s arrest is a bit of a surprise, and it would appear there is more to this story. We don’t know the details, and rushing to a conclusion on his guilt or innocence remains unfair and not the best journalistic approach to understanding what happened.
Worthy’s attorneys, Chip Lewis and Sam Bassett, made an official statement after his arrest and indicated there is more to the story.

A Chiefs spokesman put out a short statement early Saturday morning. “We are aware and gathering information,” they stated.
There is a report by Houston Chronicle writer Kirk Bohls indicating that perhaps Worthy was assaulted, and the facts currently presented in the complaint might not warrant charges.
Xavier Worthy's lawyers say he asked the complainant "multiple times" to vacate the residence and said she "destroyed a room, scratched Worthy's face and ripped out" some of his hair. They add there is photographic evidence supporting Worthy.

Hopefully, the report will clarify the matter in the eye of public opinion, and the facts will sort themselves out, as indicated by Worthy’s attorneys handling this case.
Kansas City did re-sign Hollywood Brown to a one-year deal this afternoon, which is a positive sign for the Chiefs offense.
Veach will either sign a veteran receiver who might be another stopgap at the position or boldly pursue Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf.
