In the wake of another one-score loss, the Kansas City Chiefs dealt with some bad injury news. Rookie Left Tackle Josh Simmons’ wrist injury could land him on injured reserve.

Rookie Tackle, Josh Simmons, who left the team for a month to deal with personal issues, will miss even more time away from the team. In the third quarter of the Chiefs’ 31-28 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Simmons dislocated and fractured his wrist, thus ending his 2025 season.
The Chiefs did sign Jaylon Moore to be their starting left tackle prior to Simmons sliding down to the end of the first round of the NFL Draft. They also have Wanya Morris and Esa Pole, who are now the primary backup tackles.
Jawaan Taylor also left the game with an elbow contusion, but he’s also been playing through knee issues this season. It’s not known whether he’ll join Simmons on injured reserve, but either way, this is not ideal for the Chiefs.
The #Chiefs are likely to place offensive tackle Josh Simmons on injured reserve.

Per, @RapSheet.
Regardless, with a significant cap number in 2026, if the injury is substantial, that might have been Taylor’s last game in a Chiefs uniform.
To the point of his injury, Simmons struggled against the Cowboys’ pass rush. Two significant holding penalties, both unfortunate and unnecessary given the results of those plays, took potential points off the board for the Chiefs.
Kansas City has a mini bye week to prepare for its Sunday night showdown against the Houston Texans and get its offensive line in order. At 6-6, Kansas City has to run the table to make the playoffs, and that won’t be an easy task – especially if the offensive line can’t adjust without a trio of starters.
