Over the fifty years between Super Bowls, I endured bitter losses, unmet expectations, and a persistent pit in my stomach. Now, amid a modern-day NFL Dynasty, my fellow Chiefs Kingdom members can enjoy these unmatched times.

Winning is much better than losing, and the Kansas City Chiefs have achieved a lot of that since 2018. From their first playoff win against the Indianapolis Colts to their most recent loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, this team has appeared in five Super Bowls and secured three victories.
Yes, the 2024 season ended with a disappointing loss, but Chiefs Kingdom is resilient and ready for a comeback. Led by Head Coach Andy Reid and Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the team’s offseason shows that it is focused and prepared to pursue another Super Bowl victory.
While some fans and pundits in the NFL believe the Chiefs’ best days are behind them, the Kingdom shouldn’t be swayed by the rumors of a jealous or biased media. Everyone loves to criticize the Chiefs and spread all kinds of nonsense, but they don’t understand that at the core of this team are motivated individuals who will do whatever it takes to wash away the stain of last year.
As fans, we can be fickle and unruly at times, but our love for the Chiefs is unmatched and unbreakable. We have faced challenges, been pried at, and often mocked because we keep winning. Even though the Eagles got the last laugh on the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, that doesn’t mean it started a new trend.

The opposite could be happening.
Mahomes spoke with Kay Adams earlier this month and said he had several conversations with Tom Brady about the bitter Super Bowl loss and how he managed the aftermath. He mentioned they communicated frequently, and it’s clear the two players share a mutual fondness that fosters respect.
We don’t know what their conversations are like, but remember, Brady went 10 years between Super Bowls, and in the Mahomes era, he’s just a tenth of that time between Super Bowls.
After all, these are the greatest pair of quarterbacks in the modern era of the NFL, and with Mahomes turning 30 years old this season, he’s shown no signs of slowing down. Furthermore, the gap that Brady experienced is unlikely to be something Mahomes will face in his thirties.

As fans, we should appreciate what makes the Chiefs tick and what makes the fan base so special. For us older fans, the 50-year gap between Lombardi Trophies has brought us closer to the new generation of supporters who love this franchise.
I’ll always have a big heart for the Super Bowl IV era of the Chiefs, but I also appreciate the new fans, including the Swifties, who have joined the bandwagon since Mahomes arrived in Kansas City.
No matter when you joined the Kingdom, what matters most is that the Chiefs are your team. You can always find comfort in the winning culture and the talented players on the roster during this incredible run.
Additionally, you should never apologize for being a Chiefs fan. Yes, some people spit hate towards the Chiefs, but if for even a second you let it bother you, even in the slightest, remember you could be rooting for the Cleveland Browns, who have never won a Super Bowl.
For now, enjoy the run, and when you look back on this era ten years from now, there’s no doubt you’ll do so with fondness and pride.
