It’s Offically Official Travis Kelce is Back!

The Kansas City Chiefs received some good news on Thursday. As Andy Reid and Brett Veach hinted this week at the NFL Combine, the team’s future first-ballot Hall of Fame Tight End plans to play one more season.

One of the most significant off-season decisions has been answered. Tight End Travis Kelce told Pat McAffee he intends to play one more season in Kansas City. It would be his final NFL season, and from the tone of his message, he has the fire burning to wash away the taste of the Chief’s bitter Super Bowl loss.

Kelce will be 36 during his 13th NFL season in Kansas City. The future Hall of Fame Tight End indeed indicated he wanted to play another year in a Chiefs uniform. Now that he’s committed to doing just that, the Chiefs tight end room is set for 2025. However, that does not mean the Chiefs won’t add a tight end in the upcoming NFL draft.

Noah Grey has merged as a steady backup for Kelce. The team drafted TCU Tight End Jared Wiley last season, but he suffered an ACL tear in October, so his availability for week one is certainly in don’t.

Still, Kelce’s return is good news for the Chiefs offense. Though he’s lost some speed, he wants to keep playing while putting up solid numbers. In other words, he’s still one of the best tight ends in the NFL.

It’ll be interesting to see how his final season unfolds, but based on his statement, he is driven by the way the team’s Super Bowl exit occurred, and he wants to change the final narrative of his impressive career.
