As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to depart on Sunday for Super Bowl week in New Orleans, their former offensive coordinator is back in the NFL as a running back coach.

On Saturday, the Chicago Bears announced that former Kansas City Chiefs Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy would become the team’s new running back coach per @Schultz_Report. New Head Coach Ben Johnson has put together an impressive staff, and adding a Super Bowl Championship coach makes a lot of sense.
EB was the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach at UCLA, but he departed after one season to pursue another NFL job. In Kansas City, EB was one of the best running back coaches Andy Reid had in his tenure with the Chiefs.
Exceptional hire! Take good care of him @IrishBearsShow. 🤝 https://t.co/VcdhzG8Lhs

As offensive coordinator with the Chiefs, he won two Super Bowl titles, but his attempts to earn a head coaching gig in the NFL have probably ended. For whatever reason, NFL owners didn’t feel he could put together a staff, and some questioned how much influence he had under Reid.
Still, the Bears are a terrific choice for EB, and he should shake things up on the coaching staff.
