The Kansas City Chiefs had hoped that Wide Receiver Hollywood Brown would be available next weekend in Atlanta. However, his debut is now on indefinite hold as he’s headed for Surgery next week.

Per Jordan Schultz of Schultz Report, the Kansas City Chiefs are placing Wide Receiver Hollywood Brown on injured reserve. This morning, it was decided that his dislocated SC Joint had not healed to the point that the only way to ensure Brown could return to the Chiefs this year was to opt for corrective surgery.

To his credit, Brown has been trying to avoid surgery, but if he is to return to the Chiefs sometime this season, this is the only option available.
Depending on the outcome of the surgery and the amount of money the Chiefs invested in BRown this season, the best scenario is to get him back in six weeks; the worst-case scenario would be he returns before the playoffs.

UPDATE
The Hollywood Brown injury is a long-term one. This will be longer than the minimum four games on IR.

The Chiefs did sign JuJu Smith-Schuster before the season began, and with Brown headed to Injured Reserve, they likely will bring up either Nicco Remigio or Justyn Ross from the practice squad.
