Chiefs Tight End Noah Gray Gets New Deal

With kick-off a few hours away, the Kansas City Chiefs extended the contract for Noah Gray. With Travis Kelce firm on playing two more seasons, the Chiefs, despite drafting a tight in April, extend back-up Noah Gray through the 2027 season.

It’s been a busy offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs. Ten days ago, they made Center Creed Humphrey the highest-paid person in his position. He was one of several impact draft picks from the 2021 class. Those other picks included Linebacker Nick Bolton, Guard Trey Smith, and Tight End Noah Gray.

With rumors suggesting the Chiefs and Smith are nearing a deal, the team announced before Kick-Off Thursday that it signed backup Tight End Noah Gray to a three-year contract extension.

The contract is a three-year extension worth $19M, and it includes a $6M signing bonus and $10M in guaranteed money.

Gray has been a steady performer for the Chiefs. Since his rookie season, he’s also had the advantage of working with All-Pro Tight End Travis Kelce. The team drafted TCU Tight End Jared Wiley in April, but the plan is to build him slowly into the offense.

This is a good move by the Chiefs, who continue to reward their players. Gray might not have the statistics you’d like for a contract of this type; however, there is no price too high for an experienced backup who can step in for a future Hall of Fame Tight End.
