Appearing on a late-night talk show, Comedian and Actor Adam Sandler announced that filming will commence next month on Happy Gilmore 2. The movie will feature a popular Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
If you’re a fan of Adam Sandler, your love for his boyish humor was probably born when Happy Gilmore came out in 1996. The movie made Sandler a star and set into motion one of the most steady performers in modern-day movie-making history.
Sandler’s hits were nonstop, including Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, and a plethora of other acting credits, both comically and in series dramatic roles. However, the burning question throughout his career has remained when he would make a sequel to Happy Gilmore.
After much deliberation and finding the proper script, he will start filming in New Jersey in September. The film will bring back some familiar cast members and include a cameo by Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce.
The acting bug has undoubtedly caught the eye of Kelce, who will appear in FX’s Grotesquerie, debuting on September 25th.
Earlier Wednesday, his production company announced a partnership with John Wick Director Chad Stahleski. Stahleski will produce a film based on the 1990 Comedy Loose Cannons, starring Dan Aykroyd and Gene Hackman.
The starring role will have to wait until after the Super Bowl, but it’s clear this is a direction his post-NFL career will take the engaging Kelce.
He’s also set to host a TV Show, Are You Smarter Than a TV Star, which debuts on October 16th. He’s reportedly negotiating a massive deal with Amazon to broadcast his highly successful Podcast, New Heights, with his brother, Jason Kelce.
For now, though, it’s getting ready for the 2024 regular season and spending time with Girlfriend Taylor Swift, who just ended the European leg of her mega worldwide tour.
