The Kansas City Chiefs released one of their preseason superstars, but with veteran wide receiver Rashee Rice expected to be added to the 53-man roster, this move was anticipated.

In training camp, wide receiver Jason Brownlee was one of the best players in August for the Kansas City Chiefs. With the looming suspension of Rashee Rice, Brownlee took full advantage of his minutes and made an impression on the coaching staff.
So much so, he made the initial 53-man roster. However, his snaps were limited thanks to the rise of fellow receiver Tyquan Thornton, who is playing some of the best football of his career. Now with Rashee Rice back with the team, Brownlee was the odd man out.
Hopefully, the Chiefs can get him on their practice squad later today.

For the first time, Rice, Hollywood Brown, and Xavier Worthy will be able to play a regular-season game together. With the Chiefs big defeat of the Lions, they survived the six-game suspension of Rice, to level their record to 3-3.
It’s clear the offense is finding its groove, and with Rice back in the fold, the Chiefs could turn back the clock to the 2018 and 2019 seasons when they had the greatest offense in the NFL.
Yes, their running game by committee could use a speed back at the trade deadline, but what Rice brings to the offense is something special. With his ability to play underneath, teams won’t be able to double-team Travis Kelce, Worthy, or Thornton any longer. This should open up the passing game even more for Mahomes.
The Chiefs are off today, and they’ll return to practice on Wednesday with Rice on the field. Stay tuned to ChiefsBlitz.com for the latest on Rashee Rice.
