It appears the Kansas City Chiefs in preperation for their Sunday Night showdown against the Atlanta Falcons, will start a new left tackle in their AFC NFC showdown.
Last Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach, Andy Reid, pulled rookie left tackle Kingsley Suamataia from the game and inserted Wayna Morris into the line-up. Outside of a big penalty, the second year player from Oklahoma played well in his short stint.
Apparently, that was enough to convince the head coach that he should start on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. That means he’ll be the back-side blocker for Patrick Mahomes.
To some, the fact that Reid and Offensive Line Coach, Andy Heck made this move is telling about Suamataia. You would have thought they’d give him another chance, considering how well he played against the Baltimore Ravens. Yes, he struggled against the Bengals, but to turn to Morris so soon tells me he needs more work to get back in the lineup.
For today, anyway he’ll be the back up when the Chiefs go on offense tonight.
