Chiefs Offense Will Get a Big Boost Sunday

With Jerrick McKinnon already placed on injured reserve, the Kansas City Chiefs Running Back was getting thin by the day. Clyde Edwards-Helaire has battled the flu, and Isiah Pacheco was in the concussion protocol. On Saturday the most important running back on the roster will play against the Cincinnati Bengals.

After getting kneed in the head by Creed Humphries Monday in Kansas City, Running Back Isiah Pacheco was back at practice Friday. On Saturday, he cleared the concussion protocol and will play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Pacheco is the heart, soul, and thunder of the Chief’s rushing attack. With Jerrick McKinnon in Injured Reserve, and unable to play the remainder of the regular and post season, a healthy Pacheco is a good thing for the Chiefs offense.

The team also announced they have activated Wide Receiver Mecole Hardman from the Reserve/Injured list. The team waived defensive tackle Matt Dickerson to make room for Hardman. Kansas City also added two players via Standard Elevation, running back, Keonatay Ingram and Defensive Tackle Mike Pennel.

Andy Reid told reporters Friday that Wide receiver Kadarius Toney won’t play due to a hip injury. It’s the latest in a long season of nagging injuries for the struggling wide receiver. The good news is that his reps can now go to Hardman, who knows the offense well.

In other unrelated news, the Seattle Seahawks waived former Kansas City Chiefs Linebacker Frank Clark on Saturday. With his post-season immortality on the line, needing just one sack to tie Hall of Fame defensive end Bruce Smith and two 2.5 sacks to tie Willie McGinnis for first place.

He passed on signing with the Chiefs when he was cut from Denver. Instead he chose the Seahawks because they had an open roster spot. Should Kansas City have any interest in brining him back for the post season, he’d likely have to accept a spot on the practice squad.

With a win Sunday, the Chiefs can claim their eight consecutive AFC West Title.
